Neighborhood Information

Please observe the 25 mph speed limit throughout Lakewood Estates and help keep our neighborhood streets safe for residents, pedestrians, cyclists, and pets.

Residents are also encouraged to keep the gutters in front of their properties clear so rainwater can flow freely into storm drains. Please keep grass clippings, leaves, and other yard debris out of streets and storm drains. If you use a lawn service, a quick reminder to keep clippings and debris out of the roadway helps protect our drainage system and local waterways.

Please be considerate of your neighbors when playing music or creating other outdoor noise, especially during evening and early morning hours. A little courtesy goes a long way toward keeping Lakewood Estates a peaceful place to live.

Residents who prefer not to receive door-to-door sales visits are encouraged to display a clearly visible “No Solicitation” sign near their front entrance.

Commercial door-to-door solicitors are generally required to follow city regulations, including permit and identification requirements. Residents should use caution when approached by anyone claiming to represent a utility company or offering unsolicited home services. When in doubt, contact the company directly using its official customer service information before providing personal information or allowing access to your property.

If you observe suspicious activity or have concerns about a solicitor in the neighborhood, contact the St. Petersburg Police Department through its non-emergency line at 727-893-7780. In an emergency, always call 911.

Doorbell cameras and other home security systems can also be helpful for documenting suspicious activity. Residents may share relevant information with law enforcement when appropriate.

Please note that rules for commercial solicitation may differ from those applying to charitable, religious, political, and other types of door-to-door activity. Residents are encouraged to stay informed, use good judgment, and look out for one another.

Lakewood Estates Civic Association is a voluntary neighborhood organization, not a homeowners association (HOA). Annual membership dues are $20 and are entirely voluntary. There are no mandatory assessments, outstanding balances, liens, or other financial obligations owed to the Association by property owners.

Lakewood Estates residents are encouraged to support the St. Petersburg Free Clinic Food Bank and its work helping local families in need.

Both food and monetary donations are appreciated. Financial contributions can be especially helpful, as food banks are often able to use their purchasing partnerships to provide more food per dollar than an individual shopper can purchase at retail prices.

Residents are also encouraged to remember the needs of pets in our community. Donations of pet food and supplies can help families experiencing financial hardship continue to care for their animals.

For current information about donation needs, drop-off locations, and ways to contribute, please visit the St. Petersburg Free Clinic website.

You can also bring items to 4117 Narvarez Way S., where a Food Bank volunteer lives — she will get it to the distribution center.  Donations of food, litter, treats etc. can be left at the door of Stephen Bennett at 1204 Asturia (mybellapasta@gmail.com) or Tom Ziri at 1128 Alhambra (tomziri@gmail.com).

Please help keep Lakewood Estates clean and enjoyable for everyone by picking up after your pets. For your convenience, pet waste bags are available at eight waste stations located throughout the neighborhood.

Trash and recycling bins may be placed at the curb after 7 p.m. the evening before collection and should be returned from the street by 7 p.m. on collection day.

Keeping bins stored away from the curb between collection days helps keep our streets tidy and welcoming.

Looking for your next great read? Lakewood Estates has neighborhood book exchanges where residents can share and discover books. Take a book, leave a book, or simply stop by to see what’s new.

You’ll find them at 1912 Bonita Way South and near the corner of Narvarez Way and Cortez Way.

The ponds located throughout the Lakewood Estates golf course are part of private Country Club property and are not open for public fishing.

For everyone’s safety, residents and visitors should not enter the golf course or pond areas without authorization. Active golf courses present potential hazards, and several ponds are also home to native wildlife, including our beloved alligators.

The ponds and their ecosystems are maintained as part of the golf course, and fishing or removing fish is not permitted. Please help protect the course, its wildlife, and the surrounding neighborhood by respecting property boundaries and sharing this information with visitors who may not be familiar with the area.

If you have concerns about unauthorized activity on the golf course, call the club at 867-2111 during business hours (ask for the pro shop or the manager), or call the police non-emergency number at 893-7780.
